Simple To Make Teacher Gifts

Most kids enjoy making simple gifts especially for their teachers and there can be many - dance, church, piano, school, etc. I happened upon these tea cookies at Costco they are quite delicious, so we thought we would use them to make teacher gifts (we didn't have time to make cookies). Since I enjoy making gifts for others, I make sure I always have 3 items stocked in my craft room:
vellum
clear bags
ribbon

Many years ago I purchased a ream of Vellum at a paper store, I can't count how many times I've used vellum - it is wonderful for invitations and scrap booking, etc. I've also used clear bags numerous times over the past 16 years! There are so many uses for clear bags - in fact, friends of mine own clearbags.com!

When I tie bows around the bags I make the bow first and then tie it around the bag. This way it eliminates a "bulky" bow and one that looks askew.

Cut a piece of ribbon the length needed and overlap the ends as shown.

Tie the ribbon in the middle with a length of curling ribbon - voila a very simple bow!

To make the damask tags The Fussy Designer has these tags available as a free download. They are actually envelope wraps (envelope label) with many colors to choose from. If you are more computer savvy, you can probably figure out how-to print directly onto the labels. We used vellum and cut and glued. My daughter came up with the label quote "My teachers are smart cookies."
