Playbills As Wall Art!

Do you have a favorite playbill, children's play or dance program you have been saving? Don't know what to do with all the playbills/programs you collect over the years? Here is an original and affordable way to display playbills - frame them and display as wall art. I actually purchased these frames several years ago, knowing I wanted to display our playbills (sometimes it takes me a while to get projects done  ; ) ). I am reminded every time I walk up my stairs of how much I love attending plays and the memories associated with them.

Wicked is one of my all time favorite Broadway plays.  Three of these playbills shown we actually haven't seen the play (Mary Poppins, Spiderman and War Horse). So, I visited Playbill.com (great resource) and printed out a few playbills of plays that we would like to see and added them to our collection.

We traced around the picture frames onto kraft paper, cut out and taped the paper to the wall. This is an easy way to figure out the spacing and how we wanted to hang the frames on the wall without a lot of nail holes in the wall. We then marked (through the paper) where the nail hole should go. The paper is removed before the frame is hung.

If you don't have a lot of playbills/programs, start by using playbill images from a Playbill on Broadway Wall Calendar. Another way to display playbills is to arrange an assortment of them in one large frame.

Fabulous Ideas: Kitchen Accessories In Kids Rooms!

Have you thought about shopping in the kitchen aisle for kids rooms? Here are a few ideas I gathered showing ingenuity using kitchen accessories in kids spaces. How about using a magnetic knife holder (without the knives) as a car storage strip holder?  I would bet this is an easy way to get kids to put away those magnetic cars. Heck, I would make sure all the kids play cars were magnetic...

Magnetic strip covered in ribbon - used to hold art (also notice the curtain rods holding buckets full of art supplies).

This is none other than Bekvam spice racks from Ikea (only $3.99). Perfect for a small wall - each one measures 16.5 inches long. Bekvam spice racks come in the natural color only - these bright colored spice racks were painted.

Painted spoons (chalky milk paint) hung on a wall sure makes a sweet statement!

Baking sheets painted pink turn into a sweet magnetic memo board. The Dollar store is the perfect place to purchase baking sheets; make sure to buy nonstick or else it will be difficult getting the paint to "stick". Rolling pins as jewelry holders... who woulda thought???

Doodle Dinner Placemats

When it comes to fixing dinner, there's nothing like having a pre-dinner activity to keep your little ones busy! These doodle dinner placemats are laminated so your kids can color and write on them and wipe off and start again. Kiki of Kiki Creates came up with this brilliant idea! Kiki says, "These are super simple to make. Simply download the files, print them out and get them laminated!  Provide your kids with dry erase markers and as a bonus, your dinner conversation will never be dull again!"

Kiki Creates created the FREE download for these adorable place mats!

Aren't these fabulous?

I'm crushing on this fab room and FABULOUS floor - vibrant green and white geometric bold design.

Using a great primer is key to the paint adhering to the floor.

Perfect touch to this bathroom.
