A Peek Into My Home!

I've been invited to participate in the Parade of Homes (blog style) from Poppies At Play. Each day this past week, four blogs have been featured on the Poppies At Play blog. I was asked to share three rooms - I chose my kitchen, laundry room and my daughters bedroom.  It's been fun checking out the various blogs and all the beautiful homes the past week. There is a lot of talent out there!!

If you are new to Design Dazzle, welcome!!  Design Dazzle features fabulous baby, kid and teen room design, decor, awesome kids parties and fabulous creativity  -  all relating to babies, kids and teens.

Make sure to check out all the other homes on the parade route at Poppies at Play

I completely designed my kitchen. I love it and I love cooking in it. I designed the kitchen to have two islands -  one is more of the prep island, wash the dishes, etc... the other island is more the baking center with the bar chairs.

Deep drawers under the stove top.

Pull-outs on each side of the stove top hold all my spices.

The dishwasher drawer is such a great addition to a kitchen. I also have a regular sized one.

Copper farmhouse sink - I lllooooovvvveeee this sink! Sorry the photo isn't good.

Baking is such a fun thing to do in my kitchen. I turn on Oprah and have fun watching TV while I bake.

I designed these folding pocket doors to hide all the appliances (top left cabinets). Photo below shows one of the doors open.

This was the kitchen (previous owners) before I took over; removed walls and completely gutted the kitchen. I am not an oak person and certainly don't enjoy mauve tile and white appliances.

Laundry Room.....

My laundry room is very tiny without any windows. I decided to paint the original white cabinets...red!! The wall paint is Sherwin Williams Ryegrass Green.

I love the dark wood floors and the leopard print rug with rose borders. This rug was purchased at Ballard Designs several years ago.

Laundry baskets that are always full of laundry. It's amazing how quickly the room is cleaned up when a photo shoot is about to happen : )

This light was the ugly shiny brass until I sprayed it dark brown. The glass shades were also replaced.

My daughters room...

My daughters pink, Paris, poodle girly room.

Sock Monkey Bedrooms

Wendy from The Shabby Nest created this classic sock monkey bedroom for her two little guys.  Very classic, serene neutral bedroom with pops of red and brown.

Love how the accessories are staged.
