Rainbow Party Ideas

Birthday Party Season is in full swing around here!

My kids usually opt for a "character" theme, which is fun, and easy.  But one day I hope to plan parties that aren't based on a Disney Princess or Sesame Street character.  I know, I'll miss it one day...but I'm just sayin'

There are so many other fun and fabulous birthday party ideas out there and I can't wait to take a crack at one of them one day!

So today I wanted to show off a few fun and fabulous ideas that I think would make a great Rainbow Party!

I LOVE these paper pinwheels!  So cute, so simple and so inexpensive!

It would be so cute to do a rainbow layered cake but I also LOVE the rainbow pom pom garland on top of this cake!

Chocolate covered Oreos in rainbow colors!  Amazing!

Fruit kabobs in a fun rainbow arrangement!

Rainbow colored Twizzlers!  So fun!

Rainbow punch using Otter Pops!  How cute is that!?

And a cute Rainbow Punch Game to top the party off!

How fun is that!?

Now if only I can convince one of my kids to let me throw them a Rainbow Party!

Creative Party Ideas

Have you noticed how creative parents are getting for children's parties ? It really is wonderful to see!

With all the inspiration and DIY tutorials available on blogs and in magazines why don't you get in touch with your crafty side (your inner Martha!) and make a fun party prop, party game or photo booth for your childs party, it's sure to be a hit with the kids and one of the most memorable things about the party.

It doesn't have to cost the earth...one of the best materials to use is cardboard, the creative possibilities are endless. You could even get the kids involved, arm them with crayons, pencils and glitter and let them decorate a cardboard house or castle.

Here are some fabulous ideas below to get you started.

Im planning on making a 'Wet Sponge Toss' game, and something involving a surfboard for the photobooth for my sons 4th birthday in December, I will let you know how I go with those, wish me luck!

Storybook & Fairytale Birthday Parties

Are you starting to plan your child's birthday party, and looking for a creative theme? Look no further than your child's library featuring fairytales and storybooks from yesteryear for themes considered the most innovative and fresh today!

Two fabulous examples are children's parties based on the adventures of Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn, as well as the classic story of Little Red Riding Hood and the Big Bad Wolf.

This extraordinary Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn party is a first birthday celebration for twin boys, Day and Ford.

Decor was set to look like something off right off the Mississippi river in author Mark Twain's time, with burlap used for linens, bunting and sippy cup liners!

Activities included readings of Mark Twain stories by an actor dressed as the infamous author himself, as well as live animals similar to those Tom or Huck may have run into during their adventures.

The food featured authentic southern recipes and each dish was named to coordinate with a character from one of the stories. I adore this fondant "huckleberry pie" birthday cake--spectacular!

Sophie enjoyed a very special birthday celebration this year--what a darling Little Red Riding hood she is!

Little girls who attended this spectacular Little Red Riding Hood inspired birthday party were each given a hooded red cape to wear, each getting into character right at once!

The incredibly unique decor was incorporated into one outstanding dessert table, with trees, moss, toadstools and other amazing things Little Red might have encountered on her journey through the woods.

Each guest enjoyed a custom "Little Red Riding Hood" doll birthday cake, and enjoyed nibbling on cupcakes near the "Big Bad "Silly" (not scary!) Wolf"  peeping around the corner!
