Charming Girl's Bedroom

Thanks to Kate of Centsational Girl we have this lovely bedroom to drool over:) Like me - Kate is DIYer! She bargain hunts and finds uglies and turns them into pretties. Her daughters room photos are fabulous...

The bedding is from Land of Nod - Bedding of Roses.


The pillows were $6 each on clearance at Pier One. She added the cabbage rose with some hot glue.



If you need instructions on how to paint a tree, Kate wrote quite a funny tutorial about painting the cherry blossom tree.


Silk cherry blossoms were glued onto the wall to create a 3-d effect. Majority of the items in this bedroom have been refurbished by Kate, check out her blog for more details.

Design Dazzlers Of The Month!

Design Dazzlers are what we call the Room of the Month, Designer of the Month and Artist of the Month. Raissa Mosher's daughters room was chosen as the Room of the Month for June. D.J. Killion is the Artist of the Month. All the incredible murals in this elegant nursery were painted by D.J. - painting the clouds and angels on the ceiling must have been "a pain in the neck". But having angels constantly watching over your little one is a good thing:) More photos here.

I used to wait at the news stand to purchase "kids' rooms" a magazine published by BHG. Well...unfortunately the magazine went out of business a few years ago! I was sorely disappointed - but kept a few issues. Well, it's your lucky day...you get to see the most adorable bakery shop room ever! Do you love the vintage feel of this room?

Cookies sheets were painted and used as a magnetic bulletin board. Make a "coat rack" from a rolling pin; paint and attach to the wall.
The polka dot fabric looks black in this photo - but it is actually chocolate brown.

More ideas to help you create a bakery shop room:

• Fill small apothecary jars or mason jars with gumballs or candies (colors to match the bedroom); top off with a ribbon and glue the lid shut (keep out of reach of little ones:).
• Use a chalkboard on the wall or easel to create a sweet shop menu
• Place faux pastries on a cupcake tree or cake platter
• Create little cupcake boxes to place on a shelf, make them look like they came straight from the bakery!
• Use bake pans to hang artwork as shown below.
